Description of Accident: A westbound Chevrolet crossed the median barrier on I‑26 near mile marker 120 and collided head‑on with an eastbound GMC SUV, triggering a six‑vehicle pile‑up. The drivers of the Chevrolet and the GMC were killed at the scene, while five others suffered injuries and were hospitalized. The Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the Chevrolet’s departure from the roadway, and the crash remains under review as the community mourns the loss.
