Description of Accident: A deadly wrong-way crash on I-85 North in Spartanburg County claimed the lives of three people early Sunday morning. The collision occurred around 12:15 a.m. near mile marker 75. A 2015 Honda sedan was traveling south in the northbound lanes when it collided head-on with a 2019 Toyota sedan. The impact killed the driver of the Honda, a 36-year-old man, as well as both occupants of the Toyota—a 49-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman. All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene. The crash also involved a third vehicle, a 2004 Ford Expedition, which was struck by the Honda after the initial impact. Fortunately, the driver and five passengers inside the Expedition were not injured.
