Description of Accident:
New Year’s Eve took a tragic turn following the death of young woman living in Pageland. The woman was a passenger in a vehicle that left the roadway and hit a tree near Cedar Street. According to police, an officer was attempting to stop the vehicle for having disregarded a stop sign, when the driver refused to stop and lost control of the vehicle. The driver was transported to a local hospital. Sadly, the passenger died at the scene.
