Joye Law Firm is pleased to announce its 2023 scholarship program to help some deserving South Carolina students further their educations.

Joye Law Firm is offering six $2,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college or university in the fall.

Each year, Joye Law Firm awards scholarships to students across South Carolina to help with education expenses.

The law firm recognizes the value of a college education to help students achieve their career goals. Since 2006, the law firm has provided more than $200,000 in scholarships as part of our Joye in the Community giving program.

Joye Law Firm has been serving South Carolinians for more than 50 years. The law firm gives back to the communities we serve in many ways, including college scholarships and participation in civic activities.

How to apply

The scholarship application process is now open for submission of application packages. The deadline for submission of applications is May 1, 2023. Click on the scholarship program link to download a copy of the application form and review the complete rules.

An addition $2,000 scholarship is available to South Carolina students entering or matriculating at an Historically Black College or University within the United States. Information on that program is located here.

South Carolina high school seniors who want to apply for a scholarship should submit an application, a high school transcript, a list of extracurricular activities or community involvement, a current photo, a favorite teacher nomination, and a creative entry addressing one of the following topics:

  • As a graduating senior, what advice would you give to your younger self (and other incoming freshmen) about dealing with peer pressure and avoiding risk-taking behavior such as drunk driving and texting while driving?
  • Drunk driving accidents claim over 10,000 lives each year. Show or explain how drunk driving affects your state, community, and/or you personally.

The creative entries may be an essay, video, infographic, song, poem, or another original piece of work. Written essays should be limited to 600 words and audio/video entries to two minutes.

Each scholarship winner will be notified at their high school’s end-of-year awards ceremony. If the school does not have an awards ceremony, we will notify you no later than June 8.

Good luck. We look forward to receiving your application.
