Joye Law Firm at Socostee Elementary

Atty. John Roxon and Kim King of Joye Law Firm’s Myrtle Beach office visited Mr. Rito’s and Ms. Cassy’s gifted and talented 3rd and 4th Grade class at Socastee Elementary on April 24.

The class is preparing backpacks for children who are removed from their homes and placed in foster care. In most cases, the removed children only have time to throw some clothes into a plastic bag to carry to their temporary foster home.

The class is obtaining personal items for backpacks to be given to the displaced children. The backpacks will contain personal health items, such as toothbrushes and toothpaste, socks and other necessaries, and a stuffed animal, along with the backpacks themselves.

The Joye Law Firm donated a check for $200, which was matched by a personal donation of the same amount by Attorney Roxon to help the students to help other children in their community.

It was a pleasure to meet such a wonderful group of kids and such dedicated teachers, and to be a small part of their efforts.
