Bubble Run

Forget the traditionally lackluster 5k race; throw on a white t-shirt and get in on the Bubble Run. According to the Bubble Run website, this 3-mile course is “like running through Willy Wonka’s factory.” Adults, children, and strollers are welcome to run, walk, play, shimmy, strut, prance, and promenade through the entire course. Every three to five minutes, waves start, and at every kilometer, participants hit the Foam Bogs, where the colored foam bubbles will cover them generously from head to toe. Volunteers, called bubble-teers, and charity partners of the Bubble Run, ensure that each participant gets their fair share of bubbly fun. There are four Foam Bogs, and each one is represented by a different color of bubbles, which is what makes wearing a white t-shirt all the more fun in the end!

Showcase on the Runway 2016

Showcase on the Runway originally launched in 2012, a high-energy fashion event that featured art and live music and provided proceeds to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-based charity that funds childhood cancer research. In 2015, over 100 participants, including local designers, boutiques, and stores, welcomed and entertained 500 guests with their fashion expertise. The event is broken down into phases, each phase featuring creative ways to wear everyday clothing. Between each phase, participants have the opportunity to show off their products to guests. The organizer of the event, Limitless Dreams, is a non-profit organization founded with a vision to allow creative and talented individuals the ability to express themselves through art, music, fashion, hair, make-up, dancing, and acting, as well as promote confidence, self-worth, self-esteem, talent, and beauty. Limitless Dreams has gained a network of over 1,500 people over the past year, and you should expect to see an even bigger and more successful turnout at Showcase on the Runway 2016.
