Description of Accident: A Clarendon County man lost his life Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle while walking along a highway in Sumter County. The fatal collision occurred on U.S. 15 near the intersection of Lakewood Drive.
According to officials, the 45-year-old man was walking south on U.S. 15 when he was struck from behind by a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, which was traveling in the same direction. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries in the crash. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
