Description of Accident: A 38-year-old woman was horrifically mauled by three dogs outside of a home Ball Road in Honea Path. The victim was simply walking between a friend’s house and her family’s house when she was viciously attacked. A passerby was able to scare off the dogs, but not before the woman suffered catastrophic injuries. She has already undergone multiple surgeries and amputations and remains in ICU. The owner of the dogs was arrested and charged with multiple crimes. He may also face a personal injury dog bite lawsuit. Under South Carolina state law, Article 2, Section 47-3-110 places liability for dog attacks on the dog owner.
