Description of Accident: A motorcycle crash on I-77 in the Cayce area claimed the life of a 43-year-old passenger. While traveling northbound near mile-marker 2, the motorcycle’s rear tire blew, leading to the crash. Despite wearing a helmet, the victim succumbed to injuries after being transported to a local hospital. The motorcycle driver, also hospitalized, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The South Carolina Highway Patrol and Lexington County Coroner’s Office are jointly investigating the incident.
