Description of Accident: A 25-year-old man tragically died at the scene of a crash on Friday. The deadly collision occurred just before midnight at the intersection of Patriot Parkways and Broad Street in Sumter. The victim was stationary in the median on a 2023 Honda motorcycle when the driver of a 2013 Ford F150, traveling south, attempted to overtake a Nissan Titan by entering the median. This illegal maneuver caused him to strike the victim. The driver of the Ford was charged with felony DUI resulting in death. The South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT team is investigating the fatal crash.
