Description of Accident: A dump truck rear-ended a moped on Greenville Highway at Cartee Road around 7 a.m. The collision occurred in Pickens County, nearly halfway between Liberty and Easley, S.C. The moped rider, a 31-year-old woman from Liberty, was wearing a helmet but died from blunt force trauma. Authorities reported that the collision ignited a fire after the moped’s gas line broke upon impact. Tragically, the victim perished at the scene.
