Description of Accident: A tragic crash in Mount Pleasant claimed the life of a bicyclist on Wednesday, May 22. The collision occurred around 12:18 p.m. at the intersection of Long Point Road and the off-ramp from I-526. The bicyclist was struck by a vehicle under circumstances still under investigation. Emergency responders arrived on the scene and transported the injured cyclist to the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) for treatment. Despite medical efforts, the victim later died from the injuries sustained in the crash.
