Was extremely helpful and punctual. Super honest and realistic with timelines of things, and ended up getting me the max available payout! Would absolutely recommend.

Tell Us About Your Approach When Meeting a Client

I know that when people reach out to a lawyer, it’s often during one of the hardest times in their lives. I do my best to approach every case with empathy, putting myself in my client’s shoes to better understand what they’re going through. I believe communication is key, I make it a priority to explain the process, answer questions, and keep clients informed so they know what to expect. When clients have clarity, it can ease a lot of the stress and help them focus on healing.

What is the most rewarding part of the job?

For me, the most satisfying part of being an attorney is knowing I’ve made a positive difference in someone’s life. My clients are real people with real challenges, and I take pride in helping them secure the compensation they deserve. Being able to improve their situation and see them leave in a better place than when they first walked through the door is what motivates me every day.

Jake’s Background and Education

Born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, Jake grew up with a strong connection to the legal field through his mother, who was a partner at a Georgia law firm. Her career inspired his fascination with the law from an early age and ultimately influenced his decision to pursue a legal career.

Jake earned his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Georgia Southern University and Augusta University, where he was recognized on the Dean’s List. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he developed a lasting love for South Carolina, especially the Columbia area.

After law school, Jake began his legal career as an Assistant Solicitor with the 16th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office, where he prosecuted criminal cases for York County. He later practiced in creditor rights before joining Joye Law Firm Injury Lawyers in our Columbia office.

Outside of work, he enjoys kayaking and bowfishing on the river, skiing in North Carolina, and spending time with his yellow lab, Bobby. Jake and his fiancée, Caroline, will be married in North Carolina in November.
