Joye Law Firm Injury Lawyers is proud to partner with Help Fight Hunger and WBTW News 13 for the Great Grocery Giveaway, a campaign running from July 28 through August 26, 2025, that aims to raise awareness of food insecurity and provide much-needed support to local families.
This initiative benefits organizations on the front lines of hunger relief, including Meals on Wheels, Help 4 Kids, Backpack Buddies, and Helping Hand. Participants can register to win the national grand prize of $5,000 in groceries, equivalent to a year’s worth of food. Additionally, local winners will be selected to receive prizes valued at $495.
We will also be hosting a food drive at the Surfside Walmart on Friday, August 22 from 9 AM – 4 PM. Come out to meet our team and drop off donations at 2751 Beaver Run Blvd. Surfside Beach, SC 29575.
Food insecurity remains a critical issue in South Carolina. In Horry County alone, 74% of households required food assistance in the past year. Statewide, 1 in 7 people, including 1 in 6 children, face hunger daily. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, South Carolina ranks 7th worst in the nation for food insecurity.
