Girls on the Run of Columbia is a subsidiary council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of over 200 councils across 50 states and the District of Columbia. GOTR-Columbia was founded in 2004 through an affiliate partnership with the University of South Carolina, and received 501(c)3 nonprofit status in 2008. The council has served more than 9,000 girls in Kershaw, Lexington, Richland and Sumter counties.
