Jeff was born in Massapequa, New York. When he was a child, Jeff’s family relocated to Charleston, where he graduated from Bishop England High School. He went onto college at the University of Colorado, earning a B.A. in English. After graduation, Jeff attended the University Of South Carolina School Of Law, where he earned his J.D.
Jeff was admitted to practice law in South Carolina in 1994. Since that time, Jeff has helped hundreds of people with a wide variety of legal issues and has tried dozens of cases to verdict on behalf of his clients. Today, Jeff focuses his practice on automobile accidents and personal injury cases.

Respected by his peers and adversaries alike, Jeff is known for his tough, but caring approach to legal representation. He strives to keep an open line of communication with his clients, often going above and beyond the call of duty to be accessible to his clients. As a result, Jeff was selected by his peers to earn the South Carolina “Super Lawyer” distinction, an honor bestowed on fewer than 5% of attorneys in the state. He also holds a perfect 10.0 rating from Avvo.com, a respected legal directory.
Jeff’s other passion in life is helping the Charleston Animal Society. Along with this wife, Tara Williams Gerardi, who is the Legal Support Specialist at Lowcountry Orthopaedics and a Charleston Animal Society Board Member, Jeff is highly active in the shelter’s outreach and fundraising efforts. He is the founder and organizer of the “Legal Beagles,” a group of local lawyers and law firms that compete at the Charleston Animal Society’s Annual Celebrity Chili Cook-off and Oyster Roast. You may say that Jeff and Tara take their work home with them, as they are the proud owners of three Boston Terriers Reggie, Ruby and Roxie.
Jeff is also movie buff, memorabilia collector and huge sports fan, especially when it comes to the Colorado Buffaloes and the New York Yankees.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY
"Would like to express my gratitude for the service level received from Jeff Gerardi. Joye Law Firm has gone above and beyond my expectation."
Every case is different. The facts, the clients’ injuries, and the way the clients progress throughout the case are all factors that can affect the outcome. Once a client has been released from the doctor and I have all the medical records, I investigate each facet of the case and look at it from every angle. I gather all the information about the progression of treatment, future prognosis, and investigate the actions of the defendant before I begin to estimate what a case is worth. There is simply too much information in each claim to hazard a guess at the beginning, but I promise to work thoroughly and diligently until I know exactly what we have ahead of us.

JOYE IN THE COMMUNITY
Giving back to our area is important to us.
From our offices in Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Clinton, and Columbia, SC, we have been fighting to help people face legal challenges since 1968. Our lawyers and staff devote just as much assistance to our community as we do to our clients. We have been giving back to the local area for many years and continue to serve our neighbors through programs such as the Joye Law Firm Annual Scholarship Program and community service initiatives for our annual charitable partner of the year.
