Description of Accident: A Richland County Sheriff’s deputy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries Tuesday night after his patrol vehicle was struck at a road construction site on I-126 West. The crash occurred near the entrance ramp from Colonial Life Boulevard while the deputy was seated in his patrol car and working a construction stop. Authorities said the other driver, a 64-year-old man, was not injured in the collision. No members of the construction crew were hurt.
