Description of Accident: One person has died and several others were injured following a serious crash Friday night in Galivants Ferry. The collision occurred near the intersection of Nichols Highway and Barnhill Road. One of the vehicles involved struck a tree during the crash. A total of six people were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Among them was a 21-year-old man who had been riding in the backseat. He was airlifted from the scene in critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries on Monday.
