Meet Ian Toomey

I’m Ian Toomey, a personal injury and workers’ compensation attorney at Joye Law Firm Injury Lawyers. I am based in our Greenville office, where I dedicate my practice to championing everyday South Carolinians and help them secure the resources they need to recover and move forward after serious injuries disrupt their lives.

My work includes handling challenging cases like car accidents, motorcycle crashes, slip and fall accidents, animal attacks, and other serious incidents. I also help injured workers pursue workers’ compensation claims and resolve disputes over their rightful benefits.

What Inspired You to Become an Attorney

Helping people has always been at the center of my life. I come from a family that’s deeply rooted in the medical field. So, I was taught from an early age that caring for others is simply what you do. While I didn’t follow the medical path, I was determined to forge a career that still allowed me to make a meaningful, tangible change in people’s lives. The legal field gives me the opportunity to stand with people during their hardest moments, solve the problems created by traumatic injuries, and help them move forward with security and dignity. That blend of commitment, service, and support fits who I am.

What Is Your Client Service Philosophy?

For me, communication is key. Clear, consistent client communication isn’t just my policy, it’s the bedrock of the attorney-client relationship and the key to a successful case. Like all of us at Joye Law Firm Injury Lawyers, I want my clients to feel informed, valued, and supported throughout their case. It’s all about building trust and transparency. But I believe it goes beyond, “treat others how you want to be treated.” Our clients deserve white glove service and the highest level of care and attention. If you’ve been injured, you might be going through one of the toughest experiences of your life. My role is to make your path easier, clearer, and more manageable.
