What Inspired You to Become an Attorney?
Becoming an attorney wasn’t always part of my plan. The idea was shaped when I participated in a debate in a college communications class. After impressing both my professor and classmates with my argument, they encouraged me to consider going to law school.
That led me down a path that turned out to be a natural fit. I’ve always loved learning, reading, writing, and talking with people, which are fundamental parts of the job. I strongly believe that there are three sides to every story, and I enjoy getting to the heart of an issue by looking at it from multiple points of view, which is exactly what attorneys are called to do.
Ultimately, I wanted a career that combined those interests with what I really love: helping people. As an attorney, I can use my education and experience to help people stand up for themselves and navigate situations that might otherwise feel overwhelming.
As a first-generation college grad and the only attorney in the family, my proudest moments have come while watching my younger siblings follow in my footsteps by attending college. I know that my support and encouragement played a big role in them chasing their dreams, and that same desire to help others is what drives me to do my best for every client I work with.
What Is Your Client Service Philosophy?
I want every client to know that I empathize with what they’re experiencing. While I may not personally understand every aspect of what they’re going through, I can recognize their pain and the impact their situation is having on their life. Most importantly, I want them to feel heard.
That starts with creating an environment where clients are comfortable telling me everything about their situation. The better I understand their circumstances, the better prepared I am to advocate for their needs.
I also believe clients deserve clarity and open communication. I don’t want my clients to be confused about their case or what happens next. I want to meet them where they are and take the time to explain what’s going on in a way that makes sense to that particular person. Everyone processes information differently, and part of my responsibility as your attorney is making sure my clients are comfortable with every decision and understand their options rather than simply giving them legal terminology.
I want my clients to know that I’m accessible. Questions and concerns don’t always arise at convenient times in a case, but clients should feel comfortable reaching out whenever they need clarification or reassurance.
The most rewarding part of being an attorney is knowing that I have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. I take tremendous pride in helping people, particularly those who may feel outmatched or uncertain about where to turn. Being able to listen to their story, advocate for their interests, and help them move forward is what makes this work meaningful to me.
