After the latest deadly car accident on McMillan Boulevard in Boiling Springs, neighbors are speaking up. They say this accident, which occurred in late February, is just one of numerous crashes that have happened there, so more needs to be done to keep this area safe.

The road’s dangerous “S” curve causes people to over-correct, and that can result in drivers losing control of their vehicles. Residents have tried to protect themselves and their homes by planting trees and placing rocks around their lawns to prevent cars from coming onto their properties.

But this isn’t an adequate solution. Accidents are still happening on the hazardous curve.

What the Department of Transportation is Doing

Currently, there are chevron signs to warn drivers about the bend in this road. A blinking speed limit sign has also been added so that people are aware of the potential danger ahead.

Due to the latest fatality, the Department of Transportation plans to see if there are other steps that can be taken to help the neighborhood and stop these accidents.
