Joye Law Firm Injury Lawyers is proud to announce that Managing Partner Ken “Kenny” Harrell has been selected by South Carolina Lawyers Weekly magazine as one of the Managing Partners to Watch for 2025.

Expanding Joye Law Firm Injury Lawyers’ reach and impact

Twenty years ago, Kenny took the helm of Joye Law Firm Injury Lawyers with a vision to expand and strengthen the firm’s legacy. That task became even more daunting when founding partner Reese Joye died three years later in the summer of 2008.  Under his leadership, what was once a single office with four attorneys has grown into seven offices statewide, staffed by 25 lawyers and supported by a dedicated team of professionals. Through his forward-thinking leadership, Kenny established dedicated human resources, training, and marketing departments, laying a sustainable foundation for long-term growth. His innovative approach to handling high-value cases has also helped the firm nearly double average settlement amounts over the past five years, achieving life-changing results for clients across South Carolina.

Before stepping into firm leadership, Kenny spent more than two decades as a practicing attorney, trying nearly two dozen jury cases and securing over $75 million in verdicts and settlements. He founded Joye Law Firm Injury Lawyers’s Workers’ Compensation Department in 1994, which continues to be one of the firm’s cornerstone practices.

Recognized Leadership and Service

Kenny’s professional accolades reflect his dedication and impact, including recognition from Best Lawyers in America® with multiple “Lawyer of the Year” awards from the organization and Super Lawyers Top 10 in South Carolina (2018).  He has also served as President of South Carolina Injured Workers’ Advocates (IWA) and co-chaired its Legislative Affairs Committee for close to 20 years.

Grounded in Values and Community

Beyond the courtroom, Kenny’s leadership is deeply personal. Known for his humility and accessibility, he shares his personal phone number with clients and staff and often reminds his team that “everything is figure-outable.” Raised in a family of blue-collar workers, he carries those same values of hard work, perseverance, and compassion into every aspect of his life. Kenny and his wife Jeannie have raised three children and they have two grandchildren (with a third set to arrive by year’s end), while actively supporting local schools, non-profits, and community organizations throughout South Carolina. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Reading Partners SC, a non-profit organization that provides students with the proven, individualized reading support they need to read at grade level by fifth grade.  He previously chaired the board of the Ashley Hall school, one of South Carolina’s leading K-12 schools.

We are proud to celebrate this recognition and the impact Kenny continues to make at Joye Law Firm Injury Lawyers, in the legal community, and beyond.
