Description of Accident: The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has disclosed the identity of a 66-year-old Johns Island woman who lost her life in a crash on Maybank Highway. According to investigators, a Toyota SUV driven by the victim traveling west on Maybank Highway when it veered off the road, colliding with a tree near Sailfish Drive around 12:30 p.m. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was not wearing a seatbelt. The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office has initiated an investigation into the incident.
