Description of Accident: Tragedy struck on Tuesday as a 24-year-old from Summerville lost their life in a car-train collision on Highway 52 at Medway Road. The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported the crash at 10 p.m., involving a 2008 Ford SUV and an Amtrak train en route from Miami to New York. The victim, initially transported with serious injuries, succumbed at 1:10 a.m. No injuries were reported among the 141 passengers and crew members on the train. Amtrak is collaborating with local law enforcement to investigate the incident.
