Description of Accident: A fatal accident occurred in Orangeburg County on Saturday, February 25th around 9:30 p.m. The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that a pedestrian walking east across U.S. Highway 301 near Bass Dr. was hit by a 2008 Saturn Outlook traveling north on the same road. The pedestrian did not survive the crash and died from their injuries. The driver of the vehicle was also injured and taken to the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. The victim has been identified as a 59-year-old resident of Cameron, South Carolina.
