Description of Accident: An 18-year-old from Charleston lost his life in a Saturday morning crash in Orangeburg County. The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on US-178 near Cannon Road. The victim was driving a 2015 Toyota SUV when he veered off the road, striking a ditch and a tree. A passenger in the vehicle sustained injuries and was airlifted to Augusta Hospital. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation.
