The incident occurred on June 26 when a 64-year-old man was struck by a vehicle while riding a moped at the intersection of South Sumter Street and West Fulton Street in Sumter County. An autopsy is planned at MUSC in Charleston, while the Sumter Police Department and Coroner’s Office continue their investigation into the cause of the crash.
