Description of Accident: A 21-year-old Coastal Carolina University student died from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle during CCU’s move-in weekend. The student was attempting to cross Highway 544 near Elvington Loop when she was hit by a vehicle. A 17-year-old was charged with felony DUI and two counts of hit-and-run with great bodily injury in connection with the crash.
