Description of Accident: A boating accident occurred on Wateree River near Pine Tree Creek, resulting in the death of a 15-year-old student from Camden High School. The incident took place on Friday at 10:16 p.m. when one boat collided with another. The teenager was fishing with friends at the time. An autopsy will be conducted in Newberry County and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources will be conducting an investigation into the incident.
