This year’s luncheon focuses on the transformative power of “third spaces”, places like barbershops, porches, community centers, and youth programs, and how they help create new pathways to affordable homeownership and economic opportunity in historically Black neighborhoods in North Charleston.
Metanoia, founded in 2002, is a nonprofit community development organization rooted in the heart of North Charleston’s Chicora-Cherokee neighborhood. Through youth development, affordable housing, and economic empowerment, Metanoia works hand in hand with local residents to build stronger, more vibrant communities.
Our firm has long admired Metanoia’s mission and community impact. In 2020, Attorney Mark Joye helped Metanoia seek compensation after a devastating fire destroyed the Old Chicora School. We are honored to continue supporting their efforts to inspire growth, resilience, and opportunity in North Charleston.
