Joye Law Firm is thrilled to announce the ‘Gina and Luca Adoption Extravaganza. The Charleston Animal Society is at capacity and needs help finding homes for the animals in their care. To show our support, Joye Law Firm will be covering the adoption fees for the first 100 adult dogs adopted from the Charleston Animal Society during the week of June 20th – 25th. The event is named in memory of our client’s cherished companions, Gina and Luca.
Gina and Luca’s Story
Johnny Scott’s life was tragically cut short following a devastating car accident. Joye Law Firm attorney, Jeff Gerardi, took on the case on behalf of Johnny’s estate. After the accident and throughout the legal proceedings, Johnny’s two beloved Cane Corsos, Gina and Luca, found solace and excellent care at the Charleston Animal Society.
Joye Law Firm has partnered with the Charleston Animal Society for many years and was incredibly moved by the dedication and compassion the Charleston Animal Society showed to Gina and Luca. In June of 2022, after the case reached a settlement, Joye Law Firm made a generous donation of $100,000 to the Charleston Animal Society, out of the firm’s proceeds to recognize the exceptional care they provided to Gina and Luca.
The ‘Gina and Luca Adoption Extravaganza’
Now, as the one-year anniversary of the settlement and donation occurs, we have chosen to celebrate by sponsoring the ‘Gina and Luca Adoption Extravaganza.’ This event aims to find forever homes for 100 adult dogs in need, by covering their adoption fees.
Adopting a pet not only changes their life but also brings immeasurable joy and companionship to their new human family. By participating in the ‘Gina and Luca Adoption Extravaganza,’ the community has a chance to make a lasting impact on the lives of animals in need, echoing the compassion that Johnny Scott had for his beloved Gina and Luca.

To continue the spirit of giving, Joye Law Firm will host a giveaway focused on pampering pets. The grand prize includes a $250 gift certificate to the Charleston Animal Society’s store where pet parents can purchase supplies as well as a 6-month bark box subscription.
