Description of Accident: A man has been charged with felony DUI involving death, failure to stop involving death, and simple possession of marijuana following a fatal crash near Lily Street and Lora Lane on July 4. A deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop involving a Hyundai Sonata, but the vehicle was traveling in the opposite direction and the deputy had to turn around. Officials said the delay meant a pursuit was never initiated. The Hyundai Sonata later collided with a pickup truck. The 54-year-old driver of the pickup was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
