Description of Accident: A logging truck traveling westbound on US 378 collided with an SUV that attempted to turn onto the highway from a side road. The truck veered off into a ditch and wooded area as the driver attempted to avoid the SUV, ultimately striking trees. The driver of the logging truck, a 59‑year‑old male, died at the scene. The SUV’s driver suffered minor injuries. The incident is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Florence County Coroner’s Office.
