Description of Accident: A crash involving three vehicles occurred late Monday night on I-26 eastbound near mile marker 66. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2021 Chevrolet van rear-ended a 2006 Ford van, causing it to spin and strike a 2021 Nissan sedan. The driver of the Ford van was transported to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to their injuries. A front-seat passenger in the Chevrolet van was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet van sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized. Authorities are investigating the incident and have not released further details on contributing factors.
