Description of Accident: An early morning police pursuit in Berkeley County ended in a fatal crash at the intersection of Dravo Road and its extension. According to authorities, the SUV involved in the chase veered off the roadway and struck a ditch. The vehicle was carrying a driver and two passengers at the time of the crash. Tragically, the front seat passenger suffered fatal injuries after striking the windshield. The driver and rear passenger escaped the crash without injury. Troopers from the South Carolina Highway Patrol are actively investigating the mechanical and situational factors surrounding the collision. An autopsy has been scheduled to assist with the ongoing inquiry into the fatality.
