Description of Accident: A fatal crash occurred Saturday evening in Okatie, South Carolina, claiming the life of a 36-year-old woman and injuring three passengers. The incident took place around 5:25 p.m. on South Carolina Highway 170 near the intersection with Calawassia Drive. According to authorities, the woman was driving a 2008 Ford sedan eastbound on SC-170 when a westbound 2022 Ford pickup truck attempted to make a left turn onto Calawassia Drive. During the turn, the pickup was struck by the oncoming sedan. The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. Her three passengers sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the crash.
