Description of Accident: A deadly hit-and-run crash occurred just after midnight on Interstate 85 northbound near mile marker 59 in Spartanburg County. Authorities report that both a moped and a Volkswagen Tiguan SUV were traveling north when the SUV struck the moped from behind. The impact caused the rider of the moped to be fatally injured, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Volkswagen fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
