Sean’s Background and Professional Activities and Honors
A standout student-athlete, Sean attended Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C., where played Wide Receiver for the school’s football team. He later transferred to Fort Scott Community College in Kansas, to continue his athletic career, and obtained an Associate degree in early childhood education. From there, he was recruited to the University of Arkansas on an athletic scholarship and obtained his bachelor’s degree in political science and government.
A sports injury ended his playing career, so Sean served as a student-coach intern with the University of Arkansas Athletics and found that he enjoyed helping guide others. Along the way, he met several sports agents who inspired him and encouraged him to learn the business side of sports. That eventually lead Sean to attend law school and business school.
While in law school, Sean participated in moot court competitions and developed a passion for becoming a trial attorney. Sean graduated from Charleston School of Law in 2018. Since then, he has quickly grown a reputation for his attention to detail and sharp legal mind.
Sean served as a Law Clerk for the 9th Circuit Solicitor’s Office and gained hands-on experience at several criminal defense firms throughout South Carolina. He has also served as a paralegal for the City of Charleston’s Legal Department. Prior to joining Joye Law Firm, he served as a Vice President and Legal Counsel at a lending institution in Mount Pleasant, S.C.
Alongside his budding legal career, Sean has also continued his education. He is scheduled to receive a Master of Business Administration from The Citadel in 2021.
In his little spare time, Sean enjoys spending time at the beach with his wife and their two-year-old son. “I have a seven-year-old German shepherd, so I like to say I have two kids,” he says.
