Charleston Farmers Market
Ranked by Travel & Leisure Magazine as one of the top 10 Best Farmers Markets in the U.S., the Charleston Farmers Market is located in Marion Square, in the Historic District of Downtown Charleston. Culture Club at the Pac
In July, the North Charleston Coliseum & Performing Arts Center will be featuring one of the biggest 80s pop bands, and the first band after the Beatles to accomplish three top 10 singles on their debut album. The Culture Club was perhaps more well-known because of the flashy and eccentric gender-bending Boy George as the lead singer, and put out their first album, Kissing to Be Clever, in 1982, with hit singles including “Time (Clock of the Heart),” “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me,” and “I’ll Tumble 4 Ya.” In 1983, the hit single “Karma Chameleon” reached the No. 1 spot in several countries around the world. Despite trouble between band members, the Culture Club has come back together to perform for the public once again at the PAC.

Mira Wine Edutasting
Experience the premier wine growing region of the Napa Valley combined with traditions and history of the South during the education-focused Mira Wine EduTasting event. Presented in Mira Winery’s Napa Valley Education Center & Tasting Room, oenophiles and novice wine drinkers alike will enjoy the unique, one-hour wine tastings include tasting four of Mira’s current wines. An EduTasting is different than normal events, since the sessions focus on more intimate details of wine styles, winemaking, vineyards, how to identify wine faults, understanding terroir, and an in-depth study of the Napa Valley area. Mira offers group educational wine tasting sessions, which require a minimum of 6 attendees, as well as private, one-of-a-kind educational wine tastings by appointment. If you want to sign up for a group EduTasting by yourself, Mira will pair you up with other EduTasters to form a group.

11th Annual Palette & Palate Stroll
Eleven years ago, several of downtown Charleston’s fine art galleries paired up with supporting local restaurants and created an event to raise funds for local arts programs. Attendees of the Palette & Palate Stroll will stroll through the French Quarter in the Historic District, stopping at the galleries of their choice where they can view an amazing variety of fine art and taste some of the city’s most delicious taste creations.

Friday Night Boogie Series
Counterpart to the Shaggin’ on the Cooper series, which offered Saturday night fun for people of all ages, the Friday Night Boogie Series is fun for adults 21 and up. Join DJ Jim Bowers at the Mount Pleasant Pier as he spins beach music classics, line dancing hits, and golden oldies on the last evening of the Friday Night Boogie series of 2016. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and views of Ravenel Bridge and the Charleston Harbor and catch the evening cool breezes coming off of the ocean as they mingle with the sounds of music and laughter on the 1,250-foot-long pier. Cold beverages and snacks will be available for purchase when your feet get tired and you need a quick break from the dancing.

Cars & Coffee
Calling all car enthusiasts! A meet-and-greet for car and motorcycle fanatics alike, the Charleston Cars & Coffee gathers at the Mount Pleasant Towne Centre, in front of the Atlanta Bread Company, each Saturday morning, rain or shine. Bring your antique, classic, and otherwise unique cars to show off to fellow automobile aficionados, as well as discuss and plan potential future automobile-related events in the Charleston area. There is a different crowd full of all types of cars and motorcycles each week to admire as more and more people hear about this event. After all, there is nothing like the combination of cars, coffee, and conversation on a Saturday morning. If you happen to be a car buff from out of town and heading to Charleston, Towne Centre is located right off Highway 17, a perfect stopping point for morning coffee and conversation.

Special Needs Swim Night
Whirlin’ Waters Adventure Park in North Charleston will stay open late on July 16th this year to welcome people with special needs, their families, caregivers, and friends. Whirlin’ Waters offers attractions for all ages, making it the perfect place for friends and families to gather and have fun together. For the little ones, Otter Bay offers a kiddie pool area that includes a six lane racer slide, sprays, and 10 interactive features and the Lily Pad Lagoon features a toddler play area with a shallow pool and three spraying geysers. For the older kids and adults, the Big Kahuna wave pool provides 27,000 square feet of wave action and the Tubular Twister, the multi-slide complex with three different choices of thrilling drops will make the heart flutter. It should be an enjoyable night to remember for everyone who comes out to Whirlin’ Waters for Special Needs Swim Night.

King of Pops Free Yoga in the Park
#KOPYOGA is back again this summer! Presented by the King of Pops and the City of Charleston, King of Pops Free Yoga in the Park is a way for everyone who wants to come out, enjoy the scenery and fresh air in the park, and learn yoga techniques. The founder of Bendy Brewski Yoga, and talented yoga instructor, Beth Cosi, has offered to teach community members of all ages the benefits of yoga at the beautiful Riverfront Park this summer – for free! The family-friendly event also offers attendees the opportunity to purchase a King of Pops popsicle at the commencement of the yoga class. Grab a yoga mat, a yoga buddy, some bug spray, and just enough money for a popsicle, and join in on this free, educational community family-friendly yoga event this July.

Cast Off Fishing Tournament Series
This is one of the final competitions in this summer’s Cast Off Fishing Tournament series, with only four events left this season. On July 23rd at 6 a.m., competitors will convene at Folly Beach, where the wooden pier reaches out 1,045 feet into the ocean and offers spectacular views, fishing, and dining. Common catches off this phenomenal pier include spotted sea trout, sheepshead, bluefish, and whiting. Folly Pier also offers a variety of gift shops, snack bars, and conveniently located restrooms. The fishing tournament will certainly be memorable as participants pursue prizes that are awarded to the three largest catches of the day. Smear on some sunscreen and head to Folly Pier this July for some good, old-fashioned, and spirited fishing competition.
