Melissa Fried

Melissa Fried attended Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Government.

She earned her Juris Doctorate at Charleston School of Law where she was Senior Articles Editor of the Charleston Law Review and Chair of the Honor Council.

Graduating cum laude, she received the Michelle Robbins Memorial Award, given to the student in the graduating class who most exemplifies a commitment to public service, academics, and the Charleston School of Law.  Prior to joining the Joye Law Firm, Melissa was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Daniel F. Pieper of the South Carolina Court of Appeals.

Melissa’s practice focuses on personal injury litigation and appellate consultation.  In her practice, the client’s interest is her main priority.  She believes that hard work and dedication are essential in obtaining a just result.  Melissa feels privileged to be part of a firm whose goal is to help those who are unable to help themselves on a daily basis.

In her free time, Melissa enjoys yoga, reading, and spending time with her Boston Terrier, “Millie.”  Melissa is also an active member of St. Michael’s Church in downtown Charleston where she regularly assists with the Alpha program and “The Gate” ministries.
