Meet Mark Joye

South Carolina Injury Lawyer

Mark Joye is dedicated to doing more than protecting the rights of his clients—he also works hard to improve his profession and positively influence the people he comes into contact with. One of his proudest accomplishments is becoming an Eagle Scout. Both his father, Reese Joye, and his brother earned the Eagle Scout rank, and Mark is heavily involved in the Charleston scouting program. He believes his experience has helped him to be prepared for any circumstance, and he puts that to good use in and out of the courtroom on behalf of those who have been injured by defective products, in car crashes, and in tractor trailer collisions.

In 1997, Mark represented the parents of Sergio Jimenez, who was ejected from the back of a Chrysler minivan in an accident and killed. The case resulted in a $262.5 million verdict for the family and remains the largest personal injury verdict in South Carolina. Mark has been the lead counsel on multiple cases involving clients who were killed or sustained catastrophic injuries due to defective products or car and trucking accidents.

A frequent lecturer to state and national bar organizations on automotive product liability and trial practice and procedure, Mark was invited to join the National Advisory Board for the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America in 2009. He passes on his knowledge and experience to improve the image and quality of work of his profession.

Just Ask Mark:

Q: What is my case worth?
A: Every case is different. The facts, the clients’ injuries, the way the clients progress throughout the case—all of these factors can affect the outcome. Once a client has been released from the doctor and I have all the medical records, I investigate each facet of the case and look at it from every angle. I gather all the information about the progression of treatment, future prognosis, and investigate the actions of the defendant before I begin to estimate what a case is worth. There is simply too much information in each claim to hazard a guess at the beginning, but I promise to work thoroughly and diligently until I know exactly what we have ahead of us.

Going into a case, I know that no one will be more prepared than I am. I work hard from the outset to make sure my clients get the best possible outcome for their claim.
