Meet John Roxon

John Roxon has been a practicing attorney for more than 20 years. During that time, he has concentrated his practice on the representation of injured people, both those people injured on the job and through the negligence of others. He also has handled many cases involving insurance disputes and bad faith refusal to pay insurance benefits on behalf of policyholders.
After law school, he served as law clerk to the Honorable Graydon S. McKee III, the Chief Administrative Judge for the Seventh Circuit of the State of Maryland. After moving to South Carolina in 1991, Mr. Roxon worked for a large personal injury firm in Charleston, handling many workers’ compensation, auto accident, and other injury cases. For the past 10 years, he ran his own practice in Charleston, until joining the Joye Law Firm.
Since 2004, Mr. Roxon also has served as an adjunct professor at the Citadel, teaching legal writing and oral argument and a course on law and society, which he originated, and since 2007 as an adjunct professor at the Charleston School of Law, teaching legal writing and research.
Mr. Roxon also serves as an attorney appointed by the State to represent committed patients under the mental health system. He also serves as the Workers’ Compensation Panel member for the Professional Hockey Players Association in South Carolina, representing injured players since 1999.
