16-year-old dies in Charleston ATV accident

According to Live5News.com, the Charleston teen crashed into another vehicle on Greenhill Road in Charleston. The 16-year-old died a few hours later.

Charleston officers promote safety during holiday weekend

Charleston police officers are trying to make South Carolina roads safer during the summertime.

Memorial Day marks the start of the most dangerous time of year on South Carolina roads and waterways, according to WCIV.com.

Fifteen people have died in boating accidents so far in 2010, compared to 11 for all of last year.

Motorcycle accidents increase during Myrtle Beach Bike Week

As motorcycles roll in early for Bike Week, accidents start to increase.

Two crashes involving motorcycles occurred a block apart on Myrtle Beach’s Restaurant Row, according to TheSunNews.com.

A motorcycle rear-ended a car on U.S. 17 near Lake Arrowhead Road in Myrtle Beach, and a second accident occurred on the southern side of that intersection in front of the Giant Crab Seafood restaurant.

A third accident involving a motorcycle happened at the intersection of U.S. 17 Business and Sixth Avenue South in Surfside Beach.

A 19-year-old South Carolina college student was killed in a two-vehicle auto accident.

According to a report on WYFF, investigators said the South Carolina college student, who was driving a 1999 Mazda, went left of the center lane and struck a Chevy Tahoe, traveling in the opposite direction, head on.

Dispatchers had received two calls from motorists traveling behind the South Carolina college student saying her car was driving erratically.

Charleston County Sheriff’s office investigates fatal accident

A motorcycle accident in South Carolina left a 22-year-old male dead, according to WCSC Television.

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office officials are investigating the accident that took place near Highway 17 and River Road involving a pickup truck.

Both South Carolina drivers were taken to the hospital, where the motorcyclist later died.

Investigators say that the motorcycle and the pick-up truck collided; the motorcyclist wasn’t wearing a helmet.

The pickup truck driver suffered minor injuries.
