One killed, another injured in a Columbia auto accident

WIS-TV reported a South Carolina auto accident involved an ambulance and a Ford Escort on Monday evening.

A vehicle maintenance worker was driving the ambulance on Platt Springs Road when the Columbia auto accident occurred.

A 17-year-old boy in the Escort was trying to pass another vehicle in front of him when he crashed into the ambulance head-on, causing the Columbia car accident.

The young boy was pronounced dead at the scene of the Columbia auto accident. A 16-year-old male passenger was airlifted to Palmetto Health Center with unknown injuries.
