C. Andrew Carroll practices criminal defense in the state, federal, summary, and municipal courts of South Carolina. He has successfully defended citizens accused of a broad range of crimes including murder, criminal sexual conduct, robbery, and various drug offenses.
He is a native of South Carolina and grew up the oldest of four children in the small town of Barnwell. After graduating from Barnwell High School, Mr. Carroll attended college for two years in Tennessee. At the end of his second year in college, he decided to enter the United States Army. While in the Army, he proudly served as an Airborne Infantry Soldier in the United States and Europe. His dedication, commitment, and hard work resulted in his assignment as an Infantry Section Leader during Operation: Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Upon reaching the end of his enlistment, he decided to return home to South Carolina and complete his education.
Mr. Carroll joined the Charleston County Public Defender's office just after graduating from law school in 1997. While working as an assistant public defender, he defended numerous citizens accused of a variety of felony and misdemeanor crimes. He gained a great deal of experience in representing clients from the time of arrest through the trial of their cases. In 1998, he completed the criminal trial advocacy program at the acclaimed Wester Trail Advocacy Institute in Laramie, Wyo.
In December 1999, Drew accepted his current position with the Joye Law Firm in North Charleston, where he continues to represent citizens accused of various criminal offenses.
